Concepções e práticas dos enfermeiros da Estratégia Saúde da Família acerca da violência infantil

Objective: To know the conceptions and practices of nurses in the Family Health Strategy about cases of child violence. Method: Descriptive study, with a qualitative approach, conducted with nurses from Family Health Strategy Units in a city in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. For data collection, semi-structured interviews were used, and thematic analysis technique was used. Results: From the analysis, the following emerged as categories: knowledge and perception about child violence, positioning and actions developed in the face of child violence in the units and ethical aspects and responsibilities of the professional nurse. Conclusions: It is noticed that the nurses' knowledge and performance in the face of violence against children and adolescents in the studied FHS units, proved to be dissimilar, although effective. It was noted that the professionals knew how to identify the signs of violence, however, they were afraid of the approach, notification and monitoring of cases.
