This article addresses domestic violence among same-sex couples, exploring the factors that perpetuate this form of violence, its impacts, and the legal and social initiatives aimed at combating it. Through a literature review carried out between November 2024 and January 2025, academic and institutional sources published in the last ten years were analyzed, focusing on the social, psychological, and legal dynamics of the topic. The analysis revealed specificities of this violence, such as the use of sexual orientation as a control tool and the barriers faced by victims to access support. The results show that social invisibility and the lack of inclusive public policies aggravate the problem, perpetuating abusive cycles through structural prejudice, internalization of homophobia and emotional and financial dependence. It is concluded that integrated strategies, such as professional training, educational campaigns and strengthening of support networks, are essential to promote safe and inclusive environments.
