DIFFICULTIES OF NURSES IN THE SPIRITUAL CARE OF THE PALLIATIVE PERSON: A SCOPING REVIEW

Goal: Mapping the scientific evidence regarding the nurses' difficulties in providing spiritual care for people in palliative care.
Method: Study of the Scoping Review type, based on the PRISMA-ScR recommendations and the protocol defined by the Joanna Briggs Institute.Search in 4 databases:Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), National Library of Medicine (PUBMED), Cummulative Index to Nursing and Allied Heath Literature (CINAHL) and Web of Science and considered studies from the last 5 years. Result: Final sample of 10 studies.Several difficulties were identified for nurses in the spiritual care of people in a palliative situation, of which we highlight: lack of training; lack of time; lack of recognition; lack of confidence; avoidance; late referral; poorly developed nurses' spirituality; different beliefs. Conclusion: Multiple difficulties experienced by nurses in spiritual care were identified, which include deficits in training, organizational deficits, and personal deficits.
